CHILTERN Railways has issued its new summer timetable with changes aimed at faster services and improved punctuality.

Several minor changes have been made to the timings of evening peak services on the High Wycombe line, which runs from Birmingham through to Banbury to London Marylebone.

The company says that although an average of more than 92.6 per cent of Chiltern Railways' services run on time already, the alterations to stopping patterns and departure times should help improve punctuality further.

Chiltern Railways' marketing manager David Whitley said: "Last December, Chiltern Railways introduced a completely revised service which has generally worked really well.

"As a result, the summer timetable is more of a fine-tuning exercise, which incorporates a few minor changes aimed at improving punctuality still further.

"The key is to make improvements where you can, whilst increasing the robustness of the timetable and therefore minimising the risk of delays."

Other changes to the timetable include: l Two new fast' evening peak services to Seer Green and Jordans from London Marylebone l Trains on the Aylesbury Princes Risborough line will leave three minutes earlier in order to improve the connection time for onward services to the West Midlands The new timetable starts on Sunday, June 12, and runs until early December.
