THE maker of the Mini is pointing its mechanical hands to something arty this summer by making theatre more affordable.

The BMW Group Plant in Oxford, where the popular little car is produced, is giving people the chance to see Shakespeare for a fiver.

Every year, Creation Theatre Company in Oxford presents two of Shakespeare's plays in the open air setting of Oxford's Headington Hill Park arboretum.

This summer's performances are the comedies As You Like It and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and see the company celebrate its tenth anniversary.

To honour the occasion, The BMW Group is giving new visitors to Creation's open air Shakespeare the chance to see one of the shows for just £5.

"As a major local employer, BMW Group Plant in Oxford recognises that it can support the community through cultural initiatives such as its ongoing partnership with Creation. Plant Oxford is extremely pleased to be able to support Oxford's cultural development in partnership with this vibrant theatre company," says Alexandra Brooks, plant spokesman.
