ONE of the best-loved 20th century Coward classics is coming to town.

Tight Fit Theatre presents Noel Coward's Private Lives with Phil Howe playing Elyot Chase. Phil last acted with Tight Fit in The Odd Couple. Sadie MacMahon, who is Aylesbury based, takes on the role of his ex-wife Amanda.

This 1930s classic tells the story of Amanda and Elyot, who have divorced and remarried but meet, by chance, and the passion which engulfed their relationship is re-ignited. Fleeing their new spouses they soon re-discover what drove them apart.

Mark Oldknow, the company's artistic director, says of his two leading roles: "The minute they started work it was clear that there was a chemistry between them, which has infected the whole company.

"One can easily imagine this pair having as much fun in the bedroom as they do in the living room over cocktails."

Louise Metcalfe and Mark perform as the pair's luckless spouses and the quintet is completed with Helen Sharman as Louise, the batty French maid.

Private Lives plays at the Wycombe Swan from June 9 to 11. Tickets: 01494 512000.
