BONE SCANNER APPEAL will benefit from the opening of the gardens of the Old Sun House at Pednor next Thursday between 2pm and 4.30pm.

As well as admiring the beautiful garden, which is signposted off the B485 Great Missenden to Chesham Road, you can enjoy teas provided by Chesham WI and there will also be a raffle and plant stall.

ROALD DAHL MUSEUM and Story Centre was featured on BBC Front Row programme last week and the garden at Gypsy House was the setting for an interview with Felicity Dahl and Alan Titchmarsh in one of the programmes about the Chelsea Flower Show. The regular monthly opening of the garden will be on Thursday from 2pm to 5pm.

OPENING DATE for the museum draws closer and everyone is busy getting things into place. The various galleries will tell the story of Dahl's life and work through film, objects and lively interactive displays. As everyone knows, Roald Dahl lived in the village until his death in 1990. He was determined that all his papers, manuscripts, photographs, his ideas book, business and personal correspondence (including his earliest letters home to his mother from boarding school) - should stay together. The museum will facilitate unprecedented access to this priceless material via touch-screen monitors in the galleries and through the archive on the website.

CREATE YOUR OWN chocolate truffles with Kate Parker of The Chocolate Source at two workshops to be held at the museum on Sunday, June 19 from 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm. Price for the workshop is £20 per person to include lots of chocolate and entry to the museum. Bookings essential on 01494 892192.
