MORE WOMEN AWHEEL is a south Bucks cyclist touring club initiative to encourage more women to cycle. Currently many more men ride and this event that features a workshop in the morning and a short ride in the afternoon is all about getting more women to get on their bikes for both leisure and short work journeys. The event takes place tomorrow at Winchmore Hill Memorial Hall and runs from 10am to 3pm and includes a light lunch. Find out how to mend a puncture, basic bike maintenance and what to wear. If you currently do not have a bike and just want to find out more you will still be very welcome at this event. Organiser is Cilla who can give you more details on 01494 863679.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR and at last we can enjoy the gardens and flowers in our town. The Memorial Gardens have a splendid display of spring bulbs helped by the replacement of the topsoil towards the end of last year. The gardens are currently being prepared for the summer season that always sees a number of visitors to the old town.
THE AMERSHAM BAND will be performing in the Memorial Gardens on Sunday from 3pm. This popular and well established band is very much a feature of the town. This year the Town Council hopes to provide additional seating at these concerts as last season it was very much standing room only. The band has recently travelled to Bensheim, Amersham's twin town in Germany, to play in the Winzerfest. Hopefully the weather on Sunday will be a little bit milder as their season gets underway.
