Press officer James Clements has been flocking to The Pheasant for a swift pint, or two, since he moved to High Wycombe four years ago.

The local feel, accommodating prices and decent grub have helped to make the London Road pub a regular fixture for the 27-year-old bitter drinker.

How long have you been drinking here?
Off and on for about four years. When I first moved here I checked out the local pubs near to where I was living. There were some good ones but in terms of a pub with a local feel this was the pick of the bunch.

How often do you drink here?
I try and drop in once a week I like to chill out with a pint after work. It's just round the corner from where I live so it's on the way home really. Sometimes I don't make it, but other weeks I'll pop in a couple of times.

What is the atmosphere like?
It always seems to be pretty busy. It's a small bar divided between a lounge area and eating area. The banter sometimes carries across. The locals tend to create some noise and enjoy themselves.

What is the food like?
The grub is good stuff. They've got all sorts of pub grub. Bangers and mash, omelettes, sandwiches, you know the usual. The kind of reasonably priced food you can't go wrong with. A new landlord came in a while ago and the food got even better.

What do you drink?
I'm a bitter man. I like a pint of best but during the summer I like a pint of cider. There is a good beer garden out back one of the few in Wycombe.

What is the entertainment like?
There's a disco and karaoke at the weekend and on a Sunday they do a quiz night.

What the best thing about the pub?
There's no loud music or dress code.
