KIERN Moran's recent letter, or should I say bag of sour grapes, conveniently ignores the possibility that some people may not have voted for his Labour Party because they simply do not want a Labour MP.
I am against tactical voting.
I find ridiculous the notion that you should vote Labour (even if you do not want them in power), to avoid the possibility of a Conservative representative (who you also don't want in power), instead of voting for the party that you actually do want in power,.
That is especially when they have their best chance of improving the number of seats obtained.
As for regretting the "quirk of our voting system" that he mentions, it seems he has forgotten to mention the other quirk in the voting system where the number of seats a party wins can exceed the number of seats warranted based on the number of votes received?
Why was that omitted?
Ah, of course! It's because his party benefits from that one.
Sour grapes indeed.
