I SEE that a police constable has been found not gulity by a court in Telford of driving at 159mph on a motorway and doing 80 in a 30 limit and 100 in a 40.
This is a clear admission that driving above the posted speed limit is not necessarily dangerous, provided the speed is appropriate to the circumstances.
Mind you, I can't help feeling that if a member of the public was to drive at such speeds in similar circumstances, they would go to jail.
Given this decision, perhaps the local Speed Camera Parnership would like to explain why they think that doing a few mph over the posted limit is so dangerous that they have to plaster the county in cameras?
