IVOR Marshall was wrong in his letter last week to brand High Wycombe a "joke town".

I am proud of where I live and think it's great that it's finally transforming itself into a vibrant and exciting town.

It has come along in leaps and bounds recently thanks to the retail park, all the new housing developments and now the new Eden centre. Rather than disparaging remarks about its name, we should be counting the benefits it will bring to the area.
