THANKS ARE due to Maureen who organised the Summer Sale in aid of the Meningitis Trust and in memory of her grandson and to all who attended to make this a wonderful effort with a profit of £1,064 for the trust.
THE SUN did at least shine long enough on Saturday for the members of Stokenchurch WI to pose beside their newly-planted tree to commemorate WI in the village, the county and nationally. Afterwards members and guests enjoyed afternoon tea with a difference at our local Thai restaurant. Thanks also to the Memorial Hall social club for flying the flag to mark the occasion.
(Check out the Clubs and WIs feature on pages 53 and 54 in Freetime - with pictures) AS WELL as the village fete on Saturday, June 4, there'll be a special open-air Churches Together service on Sunday morning on the Common.
It will be well worth paying a visit to the church during the fete to see the beautiful flower arrangements which have been sponsored by individuals and village organisations.
There's always something special about a large array of spectacular flower arrangements in a church setting. And the perfume will be another memorable feature of the displays.
