ROALD DAHL Museum and Story Centre in the High Street is now within three weeks of opening and I joined other local journalists for a guided tour last week. The designers have succeeded in transforming the old coaching inn and yard into a series of galleries that immerse visitors, particularly youngsters, in the world of Roald Dahl. The story centre gallery will house a replica of Dahl's famous writing hut, including his table complete with lift up flaps revealing some of his prized possessions. The first display in the exhibition area will feature photos taken by Dahl while he was serving in the Middle East with the RAF during the Second World War. If you would like to be among the first visitors after the opening on June 11, ring 01494 892192 to book your place. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays and ticket prices are adults £4.50, concessions and children aged three to 18 years £3.50 and a family ticket is £15.
