ALL SAINTS CHURCH in Oval Way is planning some good music to celebrate June. On Saturday, June 11, a jazz evening kicks off their music festival with the Peak Trad Jazz Band at 7pm, which includes a barbecue supper. Tickets are £12 per head.

On Sunday, June 19, there will be a Drumjam, when the family is invited to try their skills on over 100 types of drum. There is a family ticket for £15 or £7 per adult and £5 per child. It starts at 3pm.

The finale comes on Thursday, June 23, at 7.30pm when internationally acclaimed pianist Philip Fowke will put on a concert at 7.30pm and will be playing a specially imported Shiguru grand piano. Tickets are £12.

LOCALLY there is plenty of fun and games for the family on Bank Holiday Monday. The annual fairs at Chalfont St Peter and in Denham Village will attract crowds.

ALAN COPELAND will get June off to a good start at the Club for Women. He is the guest speaker at the Memorial Centre on Wednesday afternoon when he presents part one of his lectures on Curios in the Chilterns. Visitors are welcome.

PROBUS, the club for retired men in the area, has invited Louise Reed to be their guest speaker when they meet at the Memorial Centre on Wednesday morning. She will get up to speak at 10.30am and her subject is Emily Pankhurst.

MSTISLAV ROSTROPOVICH has tempted the concert-goers group to head up the A40 to the Barbican on Thursday. He is conducting violinist Mayu Kishima in Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No1 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No4.

AS IT IS A holiday on Monday, there will be no meeting of the Careers Springboard that evening. Next meeting is on June 6 when interviews will be discussed.

THE FIRST Wednesday of the month means that a ramble around the area will attract walkers to meet at the railway station, 2.15pm.
