POND PARK Community Association of north Chesham will organise a fun day on Saturday, June 4, at Marston Field from midday to 4pm. They are also planning to refurbish Marston Field pavilion as a community centre. The event will include displays by the Fire and Rescue Services, face-painting and disco dancing.
SUMMER SURGERIES will be held in the High Street at a market stall. Have you a question, issue, comment or concern or just want to meet your local elected representative? Tomorrow's surgery takes place between 10am and midday.
CHESHAM BLIND CLUB held their AGM last week. The chairman thanked all volunteers for their hard work running the club and drivers for getting members to and from the club and the Emmanuel Church for use of the hall. Committee members were re-elected. Several members have died in the last year and they are missed. A welcome was given to five new members.
There are several events to look forward to including a trip on the River Thames.
THE AGM of Chiltern Film Club will be held at the Elgiva Theatre on Wednesday, June 15 at 7pm. It will be followed by a film show, at 8pm, film to be selected. For a fee of just £39.50 for the season members get free entry to 14 films listed, plus one extra film specially selected. The prime aim of the Chiltern Film Club is to bring to all with an interest in cinema the opportunity to enjoy the best of international films. AFTERNOON CLUB meet regularly on the first Wednesday of each month in the Lowndes Room of the Town Hall in Baines Walk, at 2.30pm. Recent talks have included Peter Nichols on his experiences during the Second World War and Jan Collins on Arts and Crafts.
Give it a try and turn up to a meeting. Visitors pay £1 which includes coffee and biscuits. Next meeting is on Wednesday when Coral Cox speaks on "Magic of the Outback".
