IS IT A KNOTTY CRAZE or an art form? Scoubidous are the latest playground craze and Activity Chest in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter has come up with an idea to encourage creativity with the Scoubidou Challenge. Make the most creative scoubidou you can and take it to Activity Chest by Tuesday. There are three age groups - ten years and under, 11-18 years and over 18s for mums. The prize for the winner of each group is a party Pinata. Get scoubi-ing.
ANDY INSTONE will be working alongside youngsters at The Chalfonts Community College on Wednesday from 10am until midday. The age group will be 11 years to 18 plus with young adults. The event is organised by the Popstars Academy. Andy's Dance DVD has gone straight to number one in the dance charts and he is an international masterclass teacher in choreography and dance, winning many awards including sponsorship by Nike.
Andy danced with Culture Shock dance troupe who have worked with Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliot. Workshop entry costs £15. To reserve a place (book early to avoid disappointment) contact Jo on: 01494 875617.
MAKE A NOTE of next weekend's exhibition at Chalfont St Peter Community Centre. Beechwood Artists will be showing their work on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5, daily from 10am to 7pm. Refreshments will be available, entry is free and there's plenty of free car parking. Craft items and greetings cards will be on sale along with the pictures in the exhibition.
CHALFONT FAIR takes place on Bank Holiday Monday in St Peter at St Joseph's Church. From 10am until 4pm you can enjoy a wide range of activities and events. It's the perfect day out for all the family and it doesn't involve a lengthy car journey on traffic heavy roads.
VIBES MAN Roger Knoabes will be the guest at Merlin's Cave in St Giles on Sunday lunchtime. His regular place is with the Dave Shepherd Quintet who are renowned for their Benny Goodman material. Jack Emblow will be on accordion and Stan Bourke, direct from his hip replacement gig in hospital, is on drums. Pete Hughes will be found on bass at the back. The music starts at 12.15pm and you'll find the jazz enthusiasts in the barn at the back.
