HEALTH-conscious under-fives at a Beaconsfield school have been showing off what's packed inside their lunch boxes to MP Dominic Grieve.
Mr Grieve helped the pre-school pupils at Oakwood Nursery School to prepare snacks from fruits and vegetables when he visited on Friday, May 20.
The visit is part of a national campaign aimed at the under-fives, called Feeding Young Imaginations, launched by the Pre-school Learning Alliance. The campaign, in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation, is designed to ensure that all children get the best possible start in life and to provide practical help and advice for pupils and parents.
Mr Grieve said: "Helping young children develop good nutritional habits is key to their success later on in life."
Oakwood's headteacher Audrey Morriss welcomed Mr Grieve's visit and was proud to be able to show him that the 30 two to five-year-olds in her care had already embraced the concept of healthy eating.
Mrs Morriss told the MP: "The children love healthy mid-morning snacks. If you catch them early enough they will form good habits. The key is in variety so that everyone finds something they like."
