SO Wasps have decided to grace us with two more years of invasions of what was once a peaceful Chiltern Valley.

Then begins their haggling to have the stadium enlarged to admit 15,000 people as against the 10,000 eventually forced upon the local authority by some NIMBY in Westminster who had most likely never been within miles of the place but was considered competent to pass judgement.

The traffic problem will be solved by introducing the Green Plan. When? And what plan? Four or more years on and nothing of real help has come along oh yes, suddenly another NIMBY suggests that West Wycombe via Toweridge would be ok to add to the chaos. Heaven help us! The old track up across the ridge was last used in a commercial way back when a Mr Marshall used it daily to take a donkey cart from Lane End to West Wycombe to transport churned milk some 70 years ago. Let's get real shall we?

Wasps have been invited to every meeting held in the locality to allow the residents within a four-mile radius to talk to them as well as Wycombe Wanderers FC. I've only seen them at one of them and they seemed to have come from an Order of Monks with an avowed silence. At least the football club have tried to co-operate. Rugby or soccer, my driveway is used by folk allowed to leave (without cost) cars from Marlow, Hazlemere, Maidenhead and Thame so no one can say I don't try to help. I am a life vice-president of the Wycombe and District Football League and while active at club level "ran the line" enough times each season to have completed the London Marathon each year.

Travellers are turned away when having their own way if they flout the law so why should that not apply here? Let's say "No" to the Londoners. "Go back from whence you came."
