A DISTRESSED woman is calling for help to track down her Jack Russell terrier, Franny, which she believes was snatched from outside her home in Penn.
Vicki Clancy, 52, of Elm Road, has told the police and put up posters all around the village following the incident, on Friday, April 29. Franny, who has a black back and tanned limbs, managed to escape from the house and was running around Elm Road for a matter of minutes before Mrs Clancy said she was pinched by the driver of a passing car.
Mrs Clancy said: "I feel really upset about this. I simply hate the thought of her being stolen. She could be tied up and miserable somewhere."
Franny has been microchipped so that if the dog was taken to a vet or a dog rescue centre, Mrs Clancy would have been contacted by now.
The theft was witnessed by a delivery driver who stopped to find out who the dog's owners were.
He said that he saw a driver in a black or dark blue Renault Clio drive off with Franny.
Delivery man John Axford said: "I was doing a delivery and I saw a little terrier running around in the middle of the road so I stopped the lorry to go and get it.
"As I was walking to go and get it a car opened its door and the dog jumped in.
"It's terrible really, I just assumed it was their dog."
Mr Axford followed the car up to Hazlemere crossroads where the car headed towards Amersham.
If you have any information about the whereabouts of the dog please contact Mrs Clancy on 01494 817462
