AN event is being held on Sunday to raise thousands of pounds for a cancer charity after the death of 11-year-old Jake Hall last August.
The fundraising day on Sunday, May 29, is being organised by parents Richard and Lorraine Hall, from Cadmore End, in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for research into neuroblastoma, a form of cancer.
It begins at 11am with a football match at Hazlemere Recreation Ground, Amersham Road, between the current Three Horseshoes Sunday side, which Mr Hall plays for, and a team of former players.
Jake was a pupil at Cadmore End Church of England Combined School and was about to start at the Royal Grammar School, in High Wycombe, before he died.
His old school mates and friends will also be at the event to play in a junior match.
Mr Hall, 39, said: "Anyone is welcome to support the players and the charity by watching the game and coming back to the Three Horseshoes pub."
Following the clash, the day will continue at the pub in Amersham Road where there will be a chance to win prizes in a raffle. People will be able to win a camera, meals for two at the The Blue Flag in Cadmore End, Wycombe Wanderers football tickets and a radio-controlled car, among other prizes.
Neuroblastoma is one of the most common solid tumours of early childhood usually found in babies or young children.
