A SPATE of car vandalism has hit motorists parking in Seeleys Road in Beaconsfield.

Police officers in the town are investigating nine separate incidents of damage to cars during one week.

Police say most of the incidents occurred on either Thursday, May 5, or Monday, May 9, in the road which is free from parking restrictions.

Police and PCSOs have been carrying out high visibility patrols in the area, trying to identify the vandals.

Area beat officer PC Paul Shovelton, of Beaconsfield Police, said: "We need the public's help to catch these mindless vandals.

"Several cars have been damaged in a number of different incidents and I hope people living nearby would have seen or heard something. I also hope they would come forward."

Ray Grubb, an ex-army officer, commutes to Beaconsfield every day at Housing 21.

His car has been damaged twice and he has also found saliva on his doors and windows.

He said: "I am one of the people who parks their car along Seeleys Road.

"I only do this as there is no suitable affordable parking elsewhere in the town.

"The area I park in Seeleys Road is free from parking restrictions and as I pay my road fund licence it means I am allowed to park there."

He added: "When I returned to my car after work on May 5, I found a 3ft gouge all along the driver's side covering the door and back wing."

He reported further damage to his car to the police on May 9.

Letters have also been delivered to a number of houses in the area informing residents of the incidents and urging anyone with information to contact police.
