PRINCESS Anne dropped into The Home of Rest for Horses in Speen on Tuesday to tour the stables after a busy day in Buckinghamshire.
Earlier in the day the Princess Royal had visited Aylesbury-based charity Carers Bucks and opened the new Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters and Aylesbury Fire Station.
The Princess, who is patron of the horse charity, was greeted by Lady Somerleyton, president of the Home of Rest of Horses, Brigadier Paul Jepson, chief executive, Major General Sir Simon Cooper and Doug Anson, chairman of Wycombe District Council.
She was introduced to Iceland, a grey horse that pulled the Queen's carriage during her golden jubilee celebrations.
Her Royal Highness was then taken on a tour of the stables, which currently accommodate over 100 horses, before meeting the staff.
Finally the Princess talked to a group of veterinary students, all of which have benefited from scholarships from the charity.
Brigadier Jepson, who previously worked as the Queen's veterinary surgeon, said: "We are delighted to have her here today and I hope she has enjoyed the visit."
