LOVE the tastes of the Med? Wish you could toss together a pasta dish like that holiday trattoria in Italy? Meluki offers to show you how.
And not just pasta. The whole range of wonderful Italian cuisine is taught at a new cookschool, Meluki, which took over from Anna Venturi's Italian Secrets earlier this year.
Meluki is a deli shop in The Broadway, Beaconsfield, but behind the shop lies a big kitchen where they prepare the deli goods, cook for their catering business and run their Italian cookery school. Students gather round the huge kitchen table while the new owners, Luisa Granata (half Italian, chef-trained in Italy and a former City lawyer) and Megs Garpman (Cordon Bleu trained and a former IT service manager) share their passion for Italian cooking.
You can join in as much or as little as you like, slicing and stirring, simmering and sauting, and picking up cooking tips all the way.
Then out comes the bottle of wine while you all enjoy the meal you've helped cooked.
The one, two, three and four-day courses give an insight into authentic Italian cuisine, covering seafood, focaccia, semifreddi, risottos, meats and marinades, salads, chocolate and much more.
