THOUGH NorthSea Hijack have now split the music they created in their short time together merits attention.

Rob Davies, who took care of vocals and guitar in the band, has since gone his own way in the music industry with his acoustic project Vapour Trail.

NorthSea Hijack put together a three-track demo, recorded at the Nutbrown Studios just outside High Wycombe, before they went their separate ways.

The results of the recording session leave you wanting more that will sadly never come, but Vapour Trail promise more of the same.

Delicate lyrics and impassioned vocals are the key to what makes these songs memorable, you can tell these guys were really enjoying themselves in the studio.

There is nothing light about these songs, they have the soul that many guitar tunes lack. They are polished but not too polished and the bass lines are as deep as any ocean out there.

If Rob's new project can surf on the waves of promise that NorthSea Hijack had then Vapour Trail should be flying high, sooner rather than later.

Check out Vapour Trail supporting Mark Morriss of the Bluetones at the White Horse, on Sunday, May 29.

NorthSea Hijack and Vapour Trail CDs will soon be available via www.vapour-trail.co.uk.
