BOOKWORMS at a Marlow infant school received a welcome show of support when they were awarded a £500 grant for their library.
Marlow Church of England Infant School, in Sandygate Road, was donated the money by Southern Electric as part of its "Into Action Scheme' which supports its employees who work in the community.
School literacy governor Janet Hutchinson also works in the power company's Maidenhead office and applied for the grant as one of the school's governors.
The money will go towards new books and replacing those which have become worn.
Mrs Hutchinson said: "The Into Action Scheme is a great way for staff to make a difference in their local communities. The grant has enabled the school to increase and improve the number of books in our library. It is a very valuable resource which the children really enjoy using."
