Morrison Construction Services which has a regional office on Draymans Lane in Marlow has become the first building and civil engineering contractor in the UK to chalk up a decade as an Investor in People.

The company has been accredited for a fourth consecutive time having originally gained the Investors in People standard in 1995. Ms Liz Fillingham, human resources director for Morrison Construction Services, said: "Companies have to be re-assessed every three years and it is a very significant landmark to be re-accredited for a fourth time. The award recognises real achievements that have been measured against a rigorous national standard.

"Accreditation is a proven framework for delivering business improvements through our people."

The assessors' report stated: "It was clear that the organisation had systems, processes and procedures in place to plan, implement and evaluate training and development for all its people.

"Significant investment has been made to provide a vast array of training and development opportunities for all. Particular areas of strength are succession planning, the opportunity to work towards external qualifications and a commitment toward continuous professional development.

"Interviewees presented themselves as ambassadors for the company and displayed high levels of loyalty, commitment and pride at being part of Morrison Construction Services."
