HIGH Wycombe Central Aid Society will reach its 100th birthday in 2006, and we wish to compile history and information to display at our celebration event.
Because several previous secretaries have not kept as much historical documentation as we would have wished, we would appreciate anyone who may have memories, photos or information.
There must be many who recall the lunch clubs and other activities held by the society, who were also involved in Medical Loan and the early days. They may remember those who collected tithes from businessmen to help run the society.
Mary Mitchell, the present society secretary, has been in post for nearly 14 years, and although retirement looms, she would like to gather as much material as possible, to construct an historical scrapbook of the life and times of the Central Aid Society through the century.
Please will anyone who would like to assist us call 01494 535890 or write to High Wycombe Central Aid Society at 1-3, Cornmarket, High Wycombe HP11 2BW.
Mrs M C N Mitchell, Secretary to the society
