PRIMARY school children could soon find themselves taking lessons outdoors after a woodland area was opened on its premises.
Danesfield School in Rasslers Wood, Medmenham, finally opened a woodland trail and garden last week, after parents helped launch them in October, 2004.
It includes a nature trail through the woods for children to explore and two story circles with log seats. Children looking to get closer to nature can also enter a tunnel where they can hide so nearby wildlife can be observed.
In the middle of the garden is a weather vane and there are plans for a weather station too. Parents helped build the wood at weekends.
