NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH Association held their committee meeting last week at the Chiltern Centre with Geoff Pegg in the chair. Reports were received from Bourne End when vice-chairman Doug Meredith reported that as a result of several approaches to the appropriate people, getting up a 850 signature petition and speaking to the police, CCTV seems more of a possibility than previously. It was reported that MP Dominic Grieve is being approached and it was hoped he would also be pursuing this matter. Roger Lawson was present at the meeting; he is chairman of the High Wycombe Society and is an NHW co-ordinator. Later the representative from Longwick, Sylvia Storey, said how pleased they were with their lady community support officer there; she has made her mark in Longwick in a very positive way. Other reports were received from Flackwell Heath, Downley, Penn and Tylers Green.
Geoff Pegg circulated a list of 13 forthcoming events, involving a variety of crime awareness subjects, which it is hoped will make the public aware of criminal and drug taking activities. It was pointed out that these were vitally important issues and needed full support. The next committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6 at 7.30pm in the Chiltern Centre.
