MOST grandmothers enjoy a game of bingo or a crossword, but Dot Healey's favourite pastime is a game of cards of the Pokemon variety.
Mrs Healey, 51, of London Road, High Wycombe, is the grandmother of nine-year-old Pokemon card game champion Ashley Healey, and she has now founded a beginners club for other card sharks in the area.
Mrs Healey has arranged weekly sessions on Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm at McDonalds in High Wycombe town centre.
She said: "I have only been playing since November but I am getting quite good, although I am nowhere near as good as Ashley. He is the real winner."
The club was formed when some of Ashley's friends became interested in the game after his own success.
Mrs Healey added: "There are competitions in Stokenchurch but it is hard for people to get there all the time so I wanted to do something for all of the the local kids. They get a book which is stamped every time they play and they get points leading towards competing in other tournaments. The club is open to all ages, as long as they can read the cards."
Competitors need to bring pokemon cards.
