BROTHERS-in-law Spencer Lambert and David Brindle are living a dream after opening a chic new bar in the town centre.
The dedicated duo have transformed the "run-down" Anchor pub into The Glasshouse a light and airy bar boasting specialist bottled beers, cocktails, gourmet food and live DJ sets.
Unrecognisable from six months ago, High Wycombe's latest hostelry represents a three-and-a-half-year pipe dream to attract people back to the town.
Mr Lambert, 34, said: "Loads of people were leaving Wycombe for nights in Marlow and Beaconsfield. We thought it would be great to give them a reason to stay.
"It's been hard work but we've managed it.
"Now it's a case of spreading the word, telling people there's something different in town."
With the help of designers the bar has doubled in size while taking on a contemporary feel with Russian oak flooring, stylish leather couches, extensive bar, and spacious conservatory.
Mr Brindle, 33, added: "We're offering the three Qs Quality of service, quality of product and quality of environment.
"There's nothing else quite like this in High Wycombe."
And early signs are good with the focus on food and hot drinks during the day, switching to live music and a wide selection of drinks in the evening.
"It's somewhere to escape the traditional pub club scene," said Mr Lambert.
"It's a reason not to leave High Wycombe."
