TELEVISION presenter Nick Knowles is urging everybody across south Bucks to take part in Macmillan Cancer Relief's Miles Challenge.
From May 22-29 people are encouraged to take up a mile-related challenge to help raise money for vital cancer care services.
A Macmillan nurse based in the community, like those based at the Marlow Health Centre, can travel up to 200 miles a week visiting patients in their homes.
People can cover their own mile in any way they like, by walking, rowing, running, cycling or even horse riding.
Mr Knowles said: "I've always thought it is important to challenge yourself in life, like the team and myself do on DIY SOS every week, and taking part in the Macmillan Miles Challenge is the perfect way to do it while raising money to help people living with cancer.
"You don't have to set yourself a difficult challenge, sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones and the most fun."
He added: "Whether it's knitting, collecting coins or eating a mile of your favourite treats, just make sure you get sponsored for Macmillan Cancer Relief."
Less energetic types can also participate by choosing to knit a mile-long scarf or collect a mile row of pound coins which alone would raise £73,152 to help Macmillan provide the practical and emotional support which will change the lives of people living with cancer today.
By donating miles, last year participants raised over £750,000 in thousands of mile-related events across the UK.
