SKITTLES AND SUPPER evening is tonight in the village hall with tickets £7.50 adults, children £5. Phone Gwen on 01494 882843 to check availability. You are invited to form a team of four. The supper is a two-course one, but you will need your own drinks and glasses.
PLANT SALE at the Methodist Church tomorrow is at 2pm. As well as plants you can also get a cream tea and buy some cakes. Money raised is for the Church Restoration Fund, Phase One.

The 60 Anniversary of VE day is to be adopted as a theme, so any memorabilia to be loaned for the day would be appreciated.
A WALKER who usually enjoys the magnificent bluebells in Hanger Wood each year, was devastated to see tree work going on with apparent disregard for both the bluebells and the nesting birds. The bluebells in the wood are particularly beautiful and it is to be hoped that regeneration is possible so this valuable amenity is not lost. Many bluebell woods are not accessible for members of the public.
