VOLUNTEER Focus is appealing for volunteers to help out at the Wycombe Swan. The volunteers help people to their seats and sell programmes. Training is given and the volunteers should be in place for the end of August or the beginning of September. If you are interested please contact Volunteer Focus on 01494 451700. They is open on Monday and Tuesday from 9.30am to 3pm and Wednesday from 9.30am to 1.30pm, there is an answerphone outside these hours.

ANNUAL DIABETES Information Day will be held in the Post Graduate Centre at Wycombe Hospital tomorrow between 10am and 3pm. Company representatives will be demonstrating their latest equipment for the treatment of diabetes. ANCIENT CEREMONY of the weighing in of the mayor of High Wycombe and the Charter Trustees takes place on Saturday, May 21 in Frogmoor. at around 11.45am. This will follow the Mayor Making in the Guildhall at 11am where Councillor Liaquat Ali will become the new mayor of High Wycombe.

So come along to Frogmoor, remember to bring your camera, and of course the children and enjoy seeing the Charter Trustees, and ex-mayors etc, cheered if they have lost weight, and booed, if they have put on weight.

HISTORY TRAIL around Holywell Mead takes place on Sunday at 2.30pm starting from the Environment Centre by the swimming pool on The Rye. Frances Alexander will tell you what great men like Capability Brown had to do with High Wycombe, and lots more historic facts, as you stroll around. The trail will finish back at the Environment Centre for a cup of tea at 4pm. A minimum £2 donation is requested and money raised will go to the Environment Centre.
