FIRST meeting of the parish council following last month's AGM, will be held at the Memorial Centre on Monday evening at 8pm. Residents will be able to discover what progress has been made on clarification from the Environment Agency about the safety of the Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate being used in Tesco construction and the smell that emanates around the building site. Also perhaps learning a little more about the mounds of earth that surround East Common with a view to deterring travellers but which have provoked comment as being unsightly.
LOCAL Rotarians raised over £400 from their quiz evening at the Memorial Centre. Team from solicitors BP Collins emerged the overall winner of the quiz.
AGM of the Community Association will take place at the Memorial Centre on Monday, June 13. Nominations are being invited to fill 23 vacancies for representatives in the Elected Members Group and should reach Gerry Hoare, the director of services, before Friday, June 3.

SILENT Auction of goods and promises is a feature of a charity coffee morning at the Methodist Church in Oak End Way tomorrow. Proceeds from the morning, which also includes a Lilac stall, will go the British Heart Foundation and children with AIDS in Africa.
BOOK FAIR has come around again and takes place at the Memorial Centre from 10am tomorrow. There are always plenty of sellers at this event and it is a good place to pick up antiquarian, collectors, second hand or paperbacks. Admission is 50p.
INDULGENCE Evening in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief is being held at Fulmer Village Hall on Monday evening. It is on from 7pm to 10pm and tickets, which can be reserved by ringing 01753 887805/888989, cost £5.
FLOWER CLUB has a luncheon on Wednesday, followed by national demonstrator Tony Brown illustrating "A World Without". There is no competition this month.
METHODIST church-goers, Ron and Daphne Payne, are opening the garden of Amberwood at Stoke Wood on Sunday between 2pm to 5pm. Entrance, which includes tea and biscuits, is £2.50 and proceeds will be donated to the Bucks Association for the Blind.
WHITE HOUSE, the home of Mr and Mrs Courtenay-Luck, in Denham will be open on Sunday in aid of the Red Cross. The River Misbourne meanders through the mature gardens. Admission is £3 but children under 13 get in for free. It is open from 2pm to 5pm.
NATIONAL TRUST will enjoy supper at the Memorial Centre this evening, following its AGM.
