SHOPPERS had a pleasant interlude last Saturday as members of Chesham All Girls Band played a variety of tunes in the Broadway. They also had a tombola stall but I wasn't lucky.

TOWN HALL which opened in 1998 overlooks Lowndes Park and is accessible from the High Street through Baines Walk and by car through Star Yard off Blucher Street. There is full disabled access to the first floor. The Town Hall is used extensively by a wide range of clubs, societies and community organisations as well as local companies for business meetings. It is the town's only licensed venue for civil marriages.

SUE BUTT and Bill Richards (Town Clerk) will speak about "Chesham Town Council" on Wednesday at 10.15am to the Older Persons Action Group (COPAG) in the Lowndes Room of the Town Hall.

TWO miles west of Chesham is the Old Sun House, Pednor. It has a five-acre garden abundant with wildlife set on a Chiltern ridge giving super views.

The garden is surrounded by mature trees with inner planting of unusual trees and shrubs.

Features include a large ornamental pond with walkways, vegetable and herb garden, interesting woodland walk, white pea fowl, guinea fowl, pheasants and chickens. Open to the public on Sunday, May 22, 2pm to 6pm. Admission is £2.50, children free.

ON WEDNESDAY at 8pm in the White Hill Centre, Mark Flanagan who is the keeper of the gardens at Windsor Great Park, will give his first talk to the Gardeners group. His talk is entitled The Saville and Valley Gardens in Windsor Great Park.

COSTUME Design for Stage and Screen is the subject Linda Dawe has chosen for the Saturday Day School on May 21 from 10am to 4pm in the Community Centre on White Hill.
