WHETHER your dog is a pedigree or a crossbreed, a puppy or a veteran, there will be a class for him or her at the dog show on the Common on Sunday. Entries will be taken from midday. Judging starts at 1pm. If you haven't got a dog come and watch and try your luck on the raffle and tombola. Refreshments will be on sale in the Memorial Hall. WADSAD GAMES are being held in Stokenchurch on Sunday. Helpers are needed (all day, half day or just a couple of hours). Please contact 01494 438007 as soon as you can if you could spare a little time on Sunday.
WADSAD member Sue Redman came first in the Netball throw at the Wokingham, Bracknell & District Sports Association for the Disabled games. Nicky Rose took second place in javelin and discus and third in skittles and netball throw.
AGM of the Booker Common & Woods Protection Society is in the Memorial Hall, Limmer Lane on Monday at 8pm. Guest speaker will be Roger Wilding, local site co-ordinator of Wycombe Wildlife Group, talking on local flora and fauna and the re-introduction of native wild plants. The Amersham and Wycombe Students Focus Group will receive the Alan Duggin Award at the meeting for their work on various nature reserves.
OPEN DAY at St Birinus & St John's Church in Sycamore Road takes place between 10am and midday on Saturday, May 21. You will be able to see plans and a model of a proposed new church and community building. Community groups who use the church hall will also be displaying their work. Refreshments will be served.
ALSO on Saturday, May 21, from 10am to 1pm, St Birinus & St John's Church is holding a plant sale and coffee morning at the Desborough Road site. Books, home-made cakes and cards will also be on sale.
