I AM writing to you as I am very pleased you are giving the bacon badger a good press.
I come from a large family and bacon badger gets a mention at any family gathering and has become a standard joke at my mother's expense.
Our close family has, on rare treats, been brought up to appreciate "the badger" when our mum made the effort to make it. I have always spoken of bacon badger and been amazed that not many local people have had the pleasure of tasting this mouthwatering supper dish.
Over the past 14 years I have done many DIY jobs for my mum, all out of love. In return she has promised to make me and my brother a big bacon badger for all our hard work.
She also mentioned to my wife that she would teach her how to make it. This has never happened.
Most times I see her I say when are you going to make me a badger as payment. It's always laughed off with "I will get round to it some time".
Then, on April 8, 2005, I was made redundant for the first time in 16 years of work.
To my delight and amazement, on my daughter's third birthday, a day later on April 9, my eyes and taste buds couldn't believe it when for a pick-me-up she had finally cooked me a badger all to my greedy self.
I devoured it straight away and after all these years of not having it I said it was worth losing my job just to be re-united with the best dish you can eat.
Then to my amazement you have given great press to the badger at the same time.
Keep up the good work and please could you mention my mum, Vivienne Richardson, for giving me a lift.
Many thanks.
