LABOUR county councillors could hold their meetings in a phone box after their numbers on Buckinghamshire County Council slumped to a paltry two.
The party's strength was cut on polling day, but it had never been high it had just five seats before the election and all of them in High Wycombe.
But on Friday, as the results were totted up, Labour's Julia Wassell realised she had just one colleague to keep her company, Chaudhary Allah-Ditta.
The Labour members were both elected for the new two-seat ward of Bowerdean, Micklefield and Totteridge in High Wycombe.
The county council, now with 57 members compared to last year's 54, continues as ever to be dominated by the Tories.
Conservatives have 44 members instead of their previous 40.
The Lib Dems, who are entrenched mainly in Aylesbury, did not suffer in the same way as Labour. They gained two seats, bringing their numbers to 11.
The results of the general election held on the same day, confirmed Buckinghamshire as a true blue county.
