I WOULD like to ask if you can do a favour for me and others and the rest of the taxi users in High Wycombe.
At present there are no plans to allow the High Street taxis to use certain bus routes and my main concern is Corporation Street.
I have realised that during peak times when most local journeys are around £3-£3.50 the customer is having to pay tenpence per minute when the taxi is stationary waiting for the bus and other traffic to clear.
If the taxis were allowed up Corporation Street then this would not only save customers money of up to 50p in most cases but also provide a vital link to all local routes thus providing a more efficent and productive service to the taxi user.
I have emailed Bucks County Council regarding this matter and so far have had no reply.
I do not understand why the council does not want to listen to such ideas which are not hard to implement and would greatly improve a service which is already improving in terms of quality of cars.
You may or may not be aware that there are some very nice taxi vehicles out there at present and it would be even better if they did not have to sit idle on the High Street when they could be on their way to destinations that much quicker.
