SURELY the experience of the open town meeting which rejected by 188 votes to one the consultants' plans for the Waitrose extension has indicated to the district council that Marlow voters are becoming very sensitive.
Sensitive about characteristics of the town and resenting manipulation by councillors or consultants objective to the point of non-comprehension of the views of the people of Marlow!
The plans show serious lack of boundaries, missed opportunities and present three totally unsatisfactory schemes dreamed up by teams working on essentially faulty and incomplete data. The exercise needs more considered criteria, efficient consultation and less democratically flawed application by our district council.
Bill Purdie, Marlow
