TEN-YEAR-OLDS in south Bucks could have their memories preserved for posterity as part of the Memorex Capture the Memory project.

The competition aims to create an archive of special memories from children who are ten years old in 2005.

The memories will be stored using digital media and kept at libraries and museums for future generations.

A spokesman for Memorex said: "This is a chance to get involved in a really interesting project which will appeal to parents, kids and teachers as well as being something for the half-term holidays. It's got educational value, is easy and fun to do and encourages use of technology in a number of ways."

At the first stage, you have to identify a truly memorable moment from your childhood to date it could be a fantastic time on holiday, the moment a new pet arrived at home, or a wonderful surprise on a birthday.

A panel of judges will then select from these descriptions the memories which they believe best illustrate childhood in the decade.

Each child whose work is chosen will receive a framed disc recording their memory, and their entry will be preserved in the archive.

Send a brief and vivid description of your memory to memory@memorex-europe.com.
