BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull was guest of honour at a meeting of Beaconsfield Rotary last Tuesday.
The seasoned journalist gave an enlightening talk about the charity Bees for Development which helps people living in poor and remote areas of the world to keep bees as a way of earning a living.
It also raises awareness about the value of beekeeping for poverty alleviation and highlights the role of bees for the maintenance of biodiversity.
Mr Turnbull completed the 2005 London Marathon, wearing a beekeeper's suit complete with veil, to raise funds for the charity.
