CRIME victim Liz-Serena Atkins was surprised to receive a bouquet of flowers from a Beaconsfield man who read of her bravery in Midweek.

Last Tuesday we revealed how the courageous mother- of-two had got the better of three would-be muggers and left one with a broken nose.

The flowers were sent by an anonymous well-wisher, with a card saying "You were very brave".

Mrs Atkin, 27, of Woodfield Road, Princes Risborough, said: "It was a nice surprise and very thoughtful of him."

Since we broke the story Mrs Atkin said she has been congratulated by neighbours on her bravery faced with three young thugs.

Mrs Atkin also told of her further courage when one of the men who attacked her threatened her near her home on Tuesday night.

She said: "He said he knew I was the one that had scratched his face, but I felt brave enough to just walk away."

This man was the same one who had originally tried to take Mrs Atkin's handbag.

He is described as mixed race, 15-16 years old, 5ft 6in tall and chubby.

The two other attackers were white. One was aged 16 to 17, 5ft 8in tall and slim build. He had dark hair, short side burns and a thin-looking face.

The third man was about 18 years old, 5ft 10in and medium build. He had spiked up hair, possibly peroxide blond. He had a square jaw, a possible hare lip, and was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.
