Police tell of terror attack on woman

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after telling how a woman was dragged into a garden and subjected to a terrifying indecent assault.

Officers want to trace anyone who may have seen the incident which is said to have occurred between 11.30pm and 11.45pm on Wednesday in Burkes Road, Beaconsfield.

The 22-year-old woman told police she was walking home from a night out in Beaconsfield town centre when a man approached her from behind.

Police say the man grabbed the woman by the shoulders and hair before putting his hand over her mouth and dragging her off into a nearby garden and indecently assaulting her.

After the attack, they say the man ran off down Burkes Road in the direction of Burkes Crescent.

The attacker was described as white, aged 28 to 29 years old and was about 5ft 11ins tall. He was of slim build and had short dark hair and was wearing a cream-coloured jumper and black jeans.

Police are also anxious to trace a dark blue, medium-sized saloon vehicle which was spotted in the area of the town centre.

Thames Valley Police spokesman Marc Sanderson said: "This young lady has been left extremely distressed and shaken by what was a very nasty attack indeed.

"We desperately need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about this man at all. Someone must have seen him in the area at the time.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who either saw or knows the whereabouts of the car, which was spotted in the area at the time.

"Fortunately, attacks like this are very rare."
