BEACONSFIELD director Tom Segrue screeched his way to eighth place at the 1998 Pirelli Porsche Cup.
Tom, a director of a packaging company, took part in the 20-lap race at Brands Hatch, in Kent, last Sunday.
The race formed the second and third rounds of the prestigious event. The 42-year-old was at the wheel of his Porche 944 which started the day with problems.
Tom explained: "We had a few problems at the beginning. We started at the back as the car had problems with the engine and tyres but we managed to sort it out and over two races we managed to travel up the field on both occasions."
Also on the racing front, this time competing in the 1998 Skoda Trophy Rally Championship, was Dave West, of Eastfield Road, Princes Risborough.
He came third in the Carlise-based Pirelli Cumbria Rally last Saturday. His co-driver was Keith Hounslow, of Partridge Way, Downley.
Jim Dowle, of Missenden Road, Great Kingshill, also took part along with his co-driver Jim Currie, of Tylers Green.
Matt Evans, of Criers Hill, High Wycombe, and Michael Evans, from High Wycombe, were also competitors in the race.
