CAMPAIGNERS are keeping a round-the-clock vigil after developers announced plans to improve a road leading to an industrial site.
Chalfont Rural Action Group (CRAG) is lying in wait for lorries visiting Hill Farm Lane, Chalfont St Giles, after owners TDK Motors revealed its plans.
Thirty members of CRAG were in the lane first thing yesterday but the lorries did not arrive. If workmen turn up, 30 members of CRAG will descend on the site to lobby with posters and placards.
Jane Penson, of CRAG, said residents were concerned about the increased traffic and pollution the road might bring.
She added: "If it does become more used, it's not just the increased traffic and nuisance to neighbours, but also all the dirt and dust that comes with it. As soon as any of the lorries arrive, we will be out there to protest against them improving this road."
TDK Motors refused to comment.
