POLICE are continuing to search for William Livingstone who went missing on a camping holiday more than a week ago.
Mr Livingstone, 63, of Cherry Tree Road, Holtspur, was camping in the Cwnmdu area of Crickhowell, Wales.
He has not returned to his tent since Wednesday morning, although police believe there has been a possible sighting of him on Thursday afternoon, close to the campsite.
His son, William, 30, who lives in Aylesbury, said the family was very concerned for Mr Livingstone's safety because it was unlike him not to return to his tent at night.
He said: "He goes walking for about two weeks every year.
"He was planning to go to the Brecon Beacons and, as far as I know, he just went off for a walk as normal.
"If anyone has seen him, then please get in touch with police in Beaconsfield or Brecon."
Sergeant Graham Earp, community safety officer for Brecon police, said: "Obviously, we are concerned with the length of time he has been reported missing.
"We have done extensive searches with our officers, mountain rescue and the police helicopter.
"The other thing which is in his favour and ours is that the weather is mild.
"Obviously, we do fear for his safety though."
Police believe Mr Livingstone may have walked or hitched a lift out of the area and they are appealing for the public to come forward with possible sightings.
Mr Livingstone is described as 5ft 10in tall, with grey hair, blue eyes, of thin build, and possibly wearing an overcoat and carrying a small bag over his shoulder.
Mr Livingstone walks in a distinctive fashion, his shoulders hunched, his head down, and with a shuffling gait.
