DIZ Murray has her sights set firmly on the world petanque championship after winning the British version for the third time last Sunday.
The High Wycombe player, playing in a triple, won the title with her two colleagues from Southampton.
They won all seven of their matches, at the finals in Coventry, beating the reigning champions 13-4 in the final to take the crown.
Murray said: "We lost to them last year so it was especially pleasing to beat them this time."
But the 50-year-old from Hughenden Avenue has not finished there. She thinks her threesome are capable of winning the World Championships in Sweden in July.
She has already competed in two previous world championships but thinks this time will be her lucky year.
She said: "People say life begins at 40 but it is 50 with me. I'm really looking forward to it. We are going to win it this year. We've got to be confident there's no point going there if you don't think you can win.
"We are going to give it our all and I can't wait for it."
Winning the national title last weekend completed a notable double for Murray as she had also won the mixed nationals when she teamed up with two men for the finals in Devon earlier in the year.
