WHY is there so much secrecy about the Western Sector?
Are tax-payers facing a massive £25 million bill or will Tesco bosses be kind enough not to pursue a huge compensation claim against Wycombe District Council?
To be quite honest it is all getting a bit boring and a lot of people seem to be getting a little annoyed with the cloak-and-dagger games going on behind closed doors to keep the cost hidden from Wycombe residents.
A quick question to Tesco. How much do you want in compensation for losing your store?
It is a shame Tesco faces the wrecking ball because so many pensioners rely on easy access from the bus station in Newlands, but if it is going, then let's just accept it and find out what it is going to cost us.
By the time the Western Sector is up and running people will be so sick and tired of hearing about it they probably won't bother going.
Wycombe District Council won't even reveal how much they are prepared to shell out to keep the £90 million scheme going.
Why not? According to the council, two months ago it was a £75 million development, but now suddenly it is a £90 million development. How did this happen?
Has the money already been filtered out of our council tax bills or have the development company decided to build an ice rink and a ten-pin bowling alley?
These are the two things the people of Wycombe really seem to want. So is it happening or not?
Give the people of Wycombe some answers. We deserve to know what is happening.
