TRAVELLERS have come in for much criticism in this area in recent times - because some groups give all of them a bad reputation.
Some are irresponsible and do make a mess and cause problems where they stay, but to tar all with the same brush is unfair.
Residents of Winters Way in Holmer Green are annoyed that a family of four travellers are moving in to their street. However, these people have human rights as well and the residents should give them an opportunity to prove they can live among them happily before making rash judgements.
If the family upset neighbours and there is proof then the housing authority will have a legal right to remove them. This would not be possible if a family bought a house privately and moved in and then caused a nuisance.
None of us knows what our neighbours are like until they move in and to label this family now is unfair and premature.
