REVELLERS were jiving around Higginson Park on Saturday as about 2,000 people descended on the Marlow Jazz Festival to soak-up some summertime tunes.
Despite police being called to calm down the situation after Alexander O'Neal failed to appear, organisers say the weekend was generally a success, particularly as it was almost cancelled days before. Poor weather in the lead-up to the event meant a serious slump in pre-paid tickets, and Wycombe District Council would have been forced to cancel the event if the park had been too wet.
But with about 1,300 people turning-up on Saturday, 800 the Sunday and not a drop of rain, organisers need not have worried.
Linda Harris, co-promoter, said: 'The artists on the day were first class. They provided a great festival. I thought it was fabulous.'
